If We Gotta Start Somewhere…Why not here?

Service starts somewhere. But where? If we gotta start somewhere…why not here? Why don’t we start serving the people right here in our own communities? If we gotta start sometime…why not now? What are we waiting for? We have the habit of telling ourselves that we’ll do it later,  when we have more time. But honestly, how many of us actually do it later? When we do have the time, we spend it doing leisurely things for our own pleasure. So why don’t we just make the time? Spend maybe an hour or two per week. God calls us to serve one another in love, so what are we waiting for? You don’t have to go and build a house in Uganda. Spend some time helping out at your local food bank or soup kitchen, read to someone at the nursing home. Or simply put a smile on your face and be kind to every person you cross paths with. So what are you waiting for? Get out there and make a difference!
