SIF: Day 9 & 10

Friday May 20
Once again, we packed our bags and headed off for new adventures! To Nice! Much of our day was spend traveling and riding on the beloved bus. As we neared Nice, the sights became more and more beautiful, and finally, we arrived!

And boy was it nice! (pun totally intended)

Everyone split up for lunch, and the rest of our day was spent adventuring and soaking in the beautiful weather. We relaxed seaside, simply taking it all in.

Gathering together we hopped back on the bus and set off for our hotel in Antibes. Well, if only it were that simple. As we drove down the streets of Nice, our bus got a little “stuck,” and after a bit of manpower, we were back on course.

I enjoyed a delicious bowl of pesto for dinner, and ended the night with friends, rock outcrops (which are totally a thing by the way), and a beautiful sunset.

Our next day was full of activity, so we hit sack, and prepared for a day of fun in Monaco, Eze, and Nice!

Saturday May 21

Another beautiful morning in France! We departed bright and early for Eze, where we toured a perfume factory. I cannot say that I was excited for this tour, but it proved to be really interesting and put my senses to the test!

Leaving Eze, we ventured into Monaco, where we learned that Monaco is actually a country! Who knew?

The views were spectacular! I mean seriously!

We were left with several hours to explore and take in the sights. After a little touristy shopping, we walked through a garden with beautiful views of the city and water. And then, my favorite part: the Oceanographic Museum!

Sure, there was not a ton of history, or art, or anything seriously educational, but who could resist the jellyfish and sea turtles?

Seriously?! Jellyfish are dang cool. As are sea turtles.

And this guy. Whatever he may be.

The rest of our afternoon was spent back in Nice. We ate gelato at a stand that claimed to have the best gelato in town, walked along the fountains in the city center park, and attempted to relax on the rocky beach.

Tomorrow we head to Paris on the TGV! Good night beautiful Nice! Paris, we are coming for ya!
